KCYP will be at the Freedom 5K for Safe Harbor!

We're not putting this event on, but we firmly believe in supporting and highlighting other nonprofits in the area, and Safe Harbor is an important one.

Safe Harbor is an Anti Human Trafficking's organization located in Coeur d'Alene. It's a sad truth of this world that human trafficking happens, and it happens much closer to home than most people believe. Here are some shocking and eye opening stats:

Human trafficking is a $150 Billion dollar a year industry.
There are currently 49.6 million individuals in modern slavery, 17.4 million of which are children.
54% of global human trafficking happens in North America.
93% of all people trafficked are female.

These are horrific numbers. Safe Harbor's mission is to "rescue every man, women and child from human trafficking, walk beside them in their healing journey and equip them with the tools they need for a full recovery."

We think this is a worthy cause. This event is a fund raiser to help them with operating costs, however as a KCYP member, you receive $5 off the cost of an entry (scroll down on the race registration page linked below)!
