SCARLET KELSO

President

Scarlet began her Wealth Management career in 2010 with Edward Jones, before transitioning her practice to Morgan Stanley in 2013. Beyond her role as a Financial Advisor, she holds accreditations as a Certified Financial Planner, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, and Vice President at Morgan Stanley. A proud resident of Dalton Gardens, Scarlet shares her life with her youngest child, Taylor, and her partner, Paul.

With a wealth of experience on various boards and committees, Scarlet has recently focused her attention on KCYP. As 2022 & 2023 Membership Director and now President of KCYP for 2024, Scarlet is passionate about expanding the organization's membership base, engagement, and impact. She also contributes to the Events Committee and served as the Elevate 2024 Chair, always striving to craft unforgettable experiences. In 2022, Scarlet co-founded Epic 360 Moments, a photo booth business, with one of her closest friends. When not immersed in these endeavors, she cherishes quality time with loved ones, supporting Paul's venture, Callahan's Cocktails, and volunteering. With a zest for life, she pursues her passions – reading, photography, party planning, and exploring new destinations.



JANNA LOEPPKY

As a Washington native, Janna started her career in forestry operations after finishing graduate school at Oregon State University. Eventually, she migrated toward environmental consulting. This involved working with clients in the oil and gas industry to obtain air operating permits for onshore extraction wells in Texas, New Mexico and Louisiana. In 2020, she relocated to the Inland Northwest to join family and a new position with Avista Utilities in Spokane, WA. Her career with Avista initially began in compliance; specializing in air and water quality for all thermal generation facilities. More recently, she focuses her efforts on the corporate side of air quality emissions accounting and reporting company-wide at both the state and federal levels. Janna currently serves as the Greenhouse Gas Program Lead with Avista. When she’s not in the office, Janna enjoys mountain biking, kayaking, spending time with friends and family as well as helping those in need around the community.


MELISSA FINK

Melissa Fink is a born and raised Idahoan. Struggling to narrow down her many interests, she excelled in outsourced accounting where she could learn various industries and connect with and advise business owners. Melissa works at CDA Books where they simplify the language of business and make an impact on CDA's small businesses. When not at work, you can find Melissa on the lake or mountain, or simply just in front of her fireplace reading a good book.

Melissa enthusiastically joined KCYP to empower young professionals to become the next leaders in Kootenai County.

Scott is a father, outdoorsman, and REALTOR with Embrace Realty Group interested in experiencing all the best that North Idaho has to offer! He loves being part of the Kootenai County Young Professionals because it gives him a direct connection to the wonderful people and resources that will shaping this amazing community for years to come.


MARY MOSES

Mary is an Idaho native, born in Sandpoint and raised in the Spirit Lake area. She began her career working for an organization that helps contact centers improve their customer experience. After spending over 7 years there, Mary decided to start a new adventure by moving into the insurance industry in 2021 and obtaining her property and casualty license. Mary loves helping people and looking for solutions tailored to individuals’ needs and was happy to begin working for Acrisure where she can have a local impact.

 

Mary is excited to join the KCYP board to look for new opportunities to help and get to know her community. When she’s not at work, Mary enjoys spending time with her husband camping, boating, hiking, kayaking, and taking in all North Idaho has to offer.





LAURA BEYER

Laura Beyer is the Director of Marketing & Development at Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy, where she has worked for over 10 years. Laura is a graduate of the Leadership Coeur d'Alene Class of 2021 (best class ever!). She also participates in the LCSC-CDA Alumni Association and is involved with the Coeur d'Alene Chamber of Commerce Education Committee. In her spare time she she enjoys baking, traveling (she has a goal to visit all 50 states and as many National Parks as possible!), and spending time with her family and friends.



GRAHAM THOMPSON

Graham moved to Coeur d’Alene in 2004 and loves everything the PNW has to offer. He graduated from Boise State University in 2020 with a Philosophy degree and now works for RiverBank as their Business Banking Specialist. Banking was not his original plan after graduating with a philosophy degree, but he enjoys every aspect of his job and the part he likes most is supporting the local businesses that make our community so great.

Graham is also involved with the local nonprofit, Big Brother Big Sister of the Inland Northwest, where he feels fortunate to play a supportive role in shaping the lives of local youth. Over the past few years, he has become an avid backpacker and enjoys spending several days on end exploring new areas. He feels lucky to live in North Idaho and is excited to give back to the community through a KCYP board position.


ASA WOLFE

Asa was born in Rhode Island but moved to the Pacific Northwest at a young age. He attended Norwich University in Vermont which is the oldest private military institute in North America. He graduated Summa Cum Laude as a Distinguished Military Graduate with a double Bachelors of Science in Accounting as well as Business and Financial Economics. After graduation and four years of service as an officer in the US Army, he has now launched his own financial services office. The part of his business that he enjoys the most is helping individuals, families and businesses navigate the complicated world of finance while they stay the course to achieve their financial goals.   Asa moved back to Eastern Washington to be closer to family, to get away from the western Washington traffic, and for the greater opportunities to enjoy the great Pacific Northwest outdoors.  Asa has a yellow lab pup named Kora. He enjoys skiing, running, competing in triathlons and has completed four 70.3 Ironman races. Asa says he’s excited to become more involved in the community he lives in and to assist in increasing the camaraderie of the small business community.



BRETT ROBBINS

Brett was raised in Coeur d'Alene and graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School. After high school, Brett when on to graduate with a Civil Engineering degree from Boise State University. He now works as a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones with an office in Hayden.

Brett and his wife, Brooke, have two little kids and an energetic black lab. Along with KCYP, Brett is also involved with the Chamber of Commerce and as a Youth Leader for his church's youth group. You can find him outside with his family enjoying the year-round activities that North Idaho has to offer.

Are you interested in serving on KCYP's Board of Directors?

KCYP is a registered Non-Profit Organization that is overseen by a volunteer eight member Board of Directors. The board members are elected annually.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be an active KCYP member for at least 6 months and membership dues must be current.
  • Must be able to attend monthly Board Meetings.
  • Must be able to serve on the board for up to 3 years.
  • Must be motivated to advocate for the values, mission and vision of the organization.

APPLICATION STEPS

  • Watch for an announcement to be made on KCYP Social Media.
  • Submit a letter of interest to hello@kcyp.info 
  • Interviews will take place toward the end of September (exact days and times to be emailed to those who apply).
  • Board members will be voted in every year during KCYP's Annual Member Meeting in October.
      • KCYP membership elects 8 members to the Board, then the board will vote amongst themselves to assign specific positions.
